Quilt with a geometric design created with patches of plain and printed cottons.

This quilt is one of the pieces made by Gangaben after attending the design school set up by Kala Raksha Trust to support the artisans of Kutch (India).

The interlocking shapes on the front of the quilt are reminiscent of Islamic two-dimensional decorative surface treatments.

The hues of pink and purple used are unusual for textiles from western India.

The back of the quilt is a single sheet with medallion and floral motifs printed in ochre on a turmeric yellow ground.

Fabric triangles decorate the corners and sides of the quilt.
